Sundance Saloon • Loft
On Thursdays Sundance Saloon presents open non-stop West Coast Swing dancing in the Loft from 6:30 to 8:00 pm! You can dance to a mix of country and non-country music (no lessons - just dancing). And of course, this project being part of Sundance Saloon, we cater to the LGBTQ community, but all are welcome. We'll have our usual mix of two-step and line dance lessons downstairs during this time.
Our plan is to continue Sundance Swing weekly through May, and then assess how it is doing to see if we'll continue it after that.
AIDS LifeCycle Night

Sundance Saloon invites participants in the AIDS LifeCycle to come to Sundance Saloon on this night. Let your fellow Sundancers see who's riding, with this opportunity to solicit more pledges. Let us know you're coming in advance: info@sundancesaloon.org.
The AIDS LifeCycle is a 7-day bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles, June 2-8, 2024, to raise money and awareness in the fight against HIV/AIDS. This annual landmark ride through beautiful California delivers a life-changing experience for thousands of participants from all backgrounds united by a common desire to do something heroic.
Glow Night

Welcome to our annual glow night, where you are our shining star! You're encouraged to wear something that lights up or glows. That's all there is to it! This will be otherwise a normal night of lessons and dancing.
We'll have some glow sticks you can use to decorate yourself if you wish, but it's even more fun for you to dazzle us with your own creation. Hint: search the internet for "light up wearables."
This is also the night of our monthly birthday dance. If your birthday is in May, we'll have a special dance for you.

Sundance Saloon
On the first Sunday of each month, we celebrate the birthdays of everyone who has a birthday during that month. One dance is designated when we invite the birthday folks to the dance floor, and everyone gets a chance to take turns dancing with them. We also provide cake (well, actually a wonderful assortment of gourmet cupcakes)!
If your birthday is in May , we'll see you on Sunday, May 5! This is also our Glow Night, so consider wearing something that lights up.
Line Dance Pro

Sundance Saloon
Can't get enough line dancing? Line Dance Pro is an opportunity to increase your line dance abilities and challenge yourself with new line dances not included in our regular Sundance Saloon repertoire.
Our Line Dance Pro sessions run every Sunday in the Back Room of Sundance Saloon (except the first Sunday of the month)! Includes lessons starting at 5:15 pm, except the last Sunday of the month which features a line dance marathon. Check the Sundance Saloon instruction calendar for the schedule.
Give Out Day

$10 is all it takes! Help Sundance win $10,000!
Give Out Day, the annual national day of giving for the LGBTQ community, sponsored by the Horizons Foundation, arrives early this year. How does it work? We just need you and as many friends as you can muster to donate $10 each between May 1 and May 30 through our dedicated Give OUT Day platform. (Do NOT donate before May 1!)
Sundance keeps all the funds raised, but more importantly, there are "leaderboard" prizes awarded to the nonprofits with the largest number of unique donors. Help us retain our first-place standing from last year and earn a grant of $10,000 from the Horizons Foundation.

Sundance SF Pride Weekend
4 consecutive days: June 27–30, 2024
We're going all out for this year's SF Pride weekend, when we'll have four consecutive days of dancing! Mark your calendars and tell your friends now.
- Kick-off Dance. Thursday, June 27 • 6:30–10:30 pm. Sundance Saloon. Our usual Thursday night dance. Lessons 6:45–8:00.
- Welcome To Pride Dance. Friday, June 28 • 7:30–11:00 pm. Bayview Opera House, 4705 3rd St. Our fabulous Pride dance in a gorgeous historical building not far from Sundance Saloon. Lessons 7:30–8:30.
- Sundance Saturday Festival Dance. Saturday, June 29 • 1:00–4:30 pm. SF Pride Civic Center Festival (Grove near Larkin). New event with a line dance focus. Novice lessons throughout the afternoon.
- Sundance CW Dance Corral. Sunday, June 30 • 11:00 am – 6:00 pm. SF Pride Civic Center Festival. The big finale – the official Sundance SF Pride Dance. Novice lessons throughout the afternoon.

Volunteers Needed
Please help us! Sundance Saloon is a community effort, dependent on lots of people chipping in a little bit. We are always looking for more help, and this has never been more true. We've been running a volunteer deficit ever since our post-Covid reopening. If you have not volunteered in the past, this is a great time to think about stepping in. You can become an integral part of what makes Sundance so special.
Our needs at Sundance Saloon include set-up, front door, and coat-check. Shifts are generally one hour. No experience necessary.

As an all-volunteer, member- and community-supported organization, the Sundance Association depends on your support to keep thriving. The pandemic put an extra burden on our finances, and our needs are never-ending. There are many ways to help us, and not all of them involve monetary contributions:
- Become a member of the Sundance Association by pledging an annual tax-deductible donation.
- Come on down! Support us just by showing up.
- Introduce someone new to Sundance Saloon.
